Born in Great Falls, Montana, Lynn Butcher has called Central Montana home for more than four decades. After graduating from Montana State University with degrees in Business Education and Elementary Education, Lynn settled in Lewistown, where she built her life and family.

In 1989, she married Jim Butcher, and together they raised four children—Logan, Austin, Brockton, and Gracia—on their family ranch. Three of the Butcher children still live in Lewistown today, with two working alongside Jim and Lynn on their operations, Gateway Simmental and Lucky Cross. Their children proudly carry on the legacy of being fourth-generation Central Montana ranchers.

Lynn dedicated 17 years to teaching, sharing her love of learning with students while also balancing the many responsibilities of ranch life. In addition to her career in education, she raised her children in the ranching lifestyle, instilling in them a strong work ethic, a respect for the land, and a deep appreciation for community. She also explored her passion for real estate and design, flipping houses and nurturing her love of historic homes.

A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Lynn enjoys camping, exploring Montana’s natural beauty, and especially walking, which gives her space to reflect and reconnect with the land she cherishes. Her story is one of commitment—to family, to education, to her community, and to the ranching heritage that continues to thrive through her children.
